The Halim lab is actively recruiting highly talented and motivated scientists to join a recently established tumour immunology group within the CRUK Cambridge Institute. We are interested in understanding the role of innate lymphoid cells in regulating the immune response to cancer. Our long-term goal is to pharmacologically modulate the function of innate lymphoid cells to polarize the local immune environment towards an anti-cancer phenotype.
As a postdoctoral researcher in the group, you will drive your research project and establish novel in vivo and in vitro models to assess the function of immune cells in cancer as well as study signalling pathways and downstream mechanisms using cutting edge genomic and proteomics approaches.
Candidates must have experience in animal (mouse) experimental procedures, isolation and phenotyping of cell subsets using flow cytometry, gene expression analysis, IF microscopy, and molecular biology. Ideally you have demonstrated creative and independent work in your area of expertise. A strong background in molecular biology will be valued.
Applicants who wish to be considered must display the ability to undertake project management, method development, data collection and analysis. You must have excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to develop innovative experimental approaches to answer research questions, and thrive both in independent research and while working collaboratively as part of a team.
The successful candidate must have (or be about to receive) a PhD (or equivalent) in immunology and will be appointed as a grade 7 (£30,175-£38,183) dependent on experience.
