The position of the Management Information Analyst is within the Planning and Resource Allocation Office (PRAO: a section based in the Old Schools of the Finance Division's Academic and Financial Planning and Analysis Office (AFPAO)) and supports the Business Information Team. The Finance Division is a Division of the Unified Administrative Service (UAS). The overall purpose of the PRAO is to help sustain the University's leading position by effective planning and resource allocation and to enable the University to cope with challenges and uncertainty by providing support for strategic decisions which will shape the University's future.
PRAO works closely with the Senior Pro-Vice Chancellor and engages with all parts of the University and with other organisations and institutions in the HE sector generally. It is responsible for developing and obtaining approval for the budgets for central expenditure totalling some £400m and for the capital plan.
The Management Information Analyst supports management reporting, planning, forecasting and analysis and submission of statutory returns to HEFCE and HESA. The post holder will have initial duties supporting the team which delivers the student number returns, offering support in implementing changes to statutory data reporting framework (HESA Data Futures), the operation of the student number and fee forecasting model, development of business intelligence (BI) and performance measurement tools, analysis of the various league tables and other specific and general office duties, such as maintenance of the office website.
