CCS Administrator


Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Communication Administrator within the Education Division team based in the School of Clinical Medicine on the Addenbrooke's Hospital site. This is a varied and interesting post that requires the successful candidate to be flexible as well as a committed member of a friendly and well-organised team. The post supports the administration of the Clinical Communication Skills team with all aspects of the delivery of its programme.

The post's main responsibility is to assist the CCS Administrative Manager with the coordination and smooth running of all CCS courses, which run throughout the three years of the undergraduate medical curriculum, providing medical students with experiential teaching in communicating with patients, relatives and team members. It also provides basic administrative support to the Lecturer and Senior Tutor in Clinical Communication and to the Simulated Patients (actor) Coordinator.

The post holder will work closely with simulated patients, senior academics, clinical and administrative staff throughout the Clinical School.

Qualifications and Experience to include :

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent equivalent in English and Mathematics

  • High standard of IT skills including word-processing (minimum RSA III or equivalent), E-mail, database, spreadsheet experience (Microsoft Office preferred)

  • The ability to acquire skills for non-standard software applications such as 'CamSIS'

  • Web-authoring skills and experience

  • Accurate, well organized, have good communication skills and the ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team

  • Previous experience of working within an office environment
