Post-doctoral Research Associate - Genome-wide approaches to study translation (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Research Associate position to be based in the University of Cambridge, Department of Biochemistry, central Cambridge, working in the laboratory of Dr Juan Mata. The post is funded by the BBSRC, UK.

The project will address the regulation of translation during stress responses, using the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a model system. The work will involve genome-wide approaches such as RNA-sequencing and ribosome profiling.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field. Expertise in RNA research (especially translation), high throughput approaches to study gene expression, and fission yeast genetics, will be advantageous but are not absolutely required.

The interviews are expected to take place in September.

The post will be available from 1st October 2017, and is funded for up to 20 months.
