Clinical Services Manager


UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE CLINICAL SERVICES MANAGER

Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

We wish to appoint a Clinical Services Manager with effect from 18 September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Clinical Services Manager is a key member of the senior administrative team in the Department of Veterinary Medicine. You will be responsible for the administration of the Hospital's business affairs, with delegated responsibility for financial management, and management of databases. The roleholder is supported by, and has line management responsibility for, a team of administrative staff in the Hospital.

Your key objective will be achieving and maintaining high standards of efficiency and excellence in the day to day running of the Hospital, in order to meet the requirements of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for accreditation for Hospital status. You will need to be pro-active in your approach to adapt the service to suit demand and have experience of change management.

The roleholder will act as Secretary to the Hospital Management Committee, and will contribute to the development of financial and management strategy in the Hospital through preparation of rolling 5-year business plan.

Applicants should be educated to first degree level, hold a business qualification, MBA, or accountancy qualification and should have extensive experience at senior management level in a public sector or industry.

You should have excellent organisational skills, communication skills and the ability to work in a clinical environment with competing demands. You will need to demonstrate your ability to interpret complex information and policy as laid down by the University and outside bodies.

You will also need to have a proactive approach to problem solving and have the ability to deal with clients in a sensitive, discreet manner.
