Library Assistant - Inter-library Loans Department

Our Inter-library Loans team love to be busy, and so will you. So to hit the ground running, you will need to be good with people, ready to deal with any manner of enquiries, be accurate to a fault, and have an awareness of the research needs of our academic community.

We're looking for a colleague who has good organisational skills and is keen to deliver first class services, with some experience of library or related activities. You need to be confident using IT, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to meet time-critical demands.

Our Inter-library Loans department forms part of the range of services offered to readers at the University of Cambridge, one of the largest libraries in the UK. The department's mission is to support research through collaboration and cooperation in the international interlibrary loan system. The department is based at the main University Library.

The Inter-library Loans department has a dual aspect. One is to deal with requests by Cambridge academics, students, staff and alumni for material from other libraries. The second is to process and supply requests for material received from other libraries and institutions for their own academic communities.
