An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key part in the Procurement Team with specific responsibility for management of procurement for the category of Professional Services. You will be expected to action, advise and support procurement activity in the category. Key areas include tender preparation and management through the full procurement cycle, planning, financial reporting of savings and other spend data, Dispensation processing, framework mini competitions and desktop comparisons, and supporting the Deputy Head of Procurement Services and the Head of Procurement as required in other aspects of reporting, or data as required in your category.
You will maintain excellent relationships with the wider procurement team, counterparts in other Universities, and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally including suppliers, and other relevant third party organisations e.g. consortia. Educated to A level standard or higher, and will be part or fully CIPS qualified you will have a minimum of two years of procurement experience and will be a team player. The performance of the role will have excellent organisational and people management skills and the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise work and keep sometimes tight deadlines. Previous experience and knowledge of the higher education environment is also desirable. Specific category experience in professional services would be an advantage.
