The Department of Medicine is looking to recruit 2 people to undertake a job share in the role of deputy Laboratory and Facilities Manager. Both posts will report to the Lab and Facilities Manager based in Addenbrookes.
Each role will be allocated a principal location which will act as their operating base, but both roles will be expected to cover for each other and provide a comprehensive deputy service.
We are looking for experienced and qualified lab and facilities staff who are customer-facing and interested in providing a key supporting role to our scientists, researchers and academics.
The ability to work flexibly and pro-actively, spotting and resolving problems and supervising a team across a number of locations to provide a smooth service is vital.
We need applicants who can work closely together in a job share, who are able to communicate well and share information and responsibility, under the supervision of the Lab and Facilities Manager.
Hours will add up to a total of 37.5 - 40 per week to allow for some overlap and handover.
Days and hours are flexible to a degree and will depend on the candidates that apply, but we anticipate roughly a 50/50 split.
Within these boundaries we are looking for a presence throughout the week and mornings will need to be covered.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
