Map Collections Supervisor

Applications are invited for the post of Map Collections Supervisor in the Map Department of Cambridge University Library

This is an exciting opportunity to grow the levels of engagement with the academic community and to manage a targeted retrospective conversion programme.

As Map Collections Supervisor, you will deputise for the Head of Department in her absence. A key responsibility for this role is to manage a targeted retrospective conversion project to support academic engagement with the collections, supervising the work of a part-time cataloguer and liaising with academics over priorities for the project. Your work will also include cataloguing maps, atlases and books on cartography, supervising the Map Department Reading Room on a rota basis, dealing with reader enquiries, and fetching as required.

Applicants should have a good educational background, have cataloguing experience plus an interest in cartography, and be IT literate.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, accurate, have good communication skills and an ability to work well as part of a team.
