The Department of Physics is seeking 2 highly-motivated and professional individuals to cover the HR and Events work in new administrative Hubs being established to provide a pro-active and responsive service to academic and research staff. Working alongside the central HR team and gaining wide-ranging experience of Human Resources work in a HE environment, these specialist roles are an excellent opportunity for those seeking to develop a career in Human Resources. You will also be responsible for organising and managing events such as small conferences and seminars.
You will be educated to A'level standard (or equivalent) and have excellent general organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to progress and solve HR problems for academic and research colleagues. The Department is committed to supporting training and development opportunities such as CIPD accreditation. Previous HR experience is desirable but not essential.
It is vital that you possess excellent inter-personal skills and to be able to work well with your Hub team and manage good working relationships with a wide variety of people from all over the world, in order to gain an understanding of the HR needs of academics, research staff, visitors and graduate students.
As well as developments in its administration, the Department is looking forward to further major developments, including planning for a state-of-the-art, multi-million pound new building within the next five years.
