Admissions and Data Services Administrator [Temporary Cover]

Applications are invited for the temporary position of Admissions and Data Services Administrator based in the Cambridge Admissions Office (CAO) to provide cover whilst the role holder undertakes a secondment opportunity.

The post is part of the Admissions and Data Services team, which deals with incoming admissions enquiries; receives and processes over 16,000 undergraduate applications each year; liaises closely with the Cambridge Colleges, UCAS and Awarding Bodies to ensure high quality service delivery; and which produces management information, research, statistics and reports on admissions to inform strategy.

The post-holder is responsible for managing the administration of the Supplementary Application Questionnaire (SAQ), including the annual update to the applicant guide to completing the SAQ. The role holder is also responsible for trouble shooting technical problems with the SAQ and liaising with the student information system (CamSIS) team as appropriate. Furthermore, the role holder oversees all of the UCAS procedures relating to all undergraduate applications to the Cambridge Colleges and is also responsible for ensuring that the UCAS rules and deadlines are adhered to at all times. The role provides various important additional administrative support in relation to data requests and Freedom of Information requests, as well as committee servicing support.

Applicants should be educated to degree level, have excellent organisational, communication, administrative, problem solving and IT skills as well as experience of working within an office environment, preferably within a Higher Education context. The post-holder will work as part of a strong team whilst prioritising and planning their individual workload with conflicting priorities in order to meet strict deadlines.

Fixed-term: 12 months or the return of the post-holder, whichever is the earlier.
