Senior Associate Director - Student Support

The Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations office seeks an outstanding major gifts fundraiser with the ability to develop long-term holistic partnerships with high level donors to secure financial support for student support and bursaries.

This position is run in conjunction with the Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust (Cambridge Trust) in the hopes that significant focus can be directed on student support and bursary funding. This role is central to the Cambridge Trust's objectives of enabling the best and brightest students to come to Cambridge irrespective of their social and economic backgrounds.

The Cambridge Trust is the largest provider of scholarships for students at the University of Cambridge, working with partners worldwide, to support students of outstanding academic merit under a variety of scholarship schemes. Further information about the Trust can be found at

Responsible for the design, support and delivery of the major gifts strategy, you will leverage partnerships with world class academics and leaders across Cambridge University to deliver significant philanthropic income.

Your mission will be to bring a forward-thinking and innovative approach to developing new, and building on existing, high-value partnerships with donors.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in major gift fundraising from individuals, corporates and/or trusts and foundations. As a strategic thinker, you will be capable of building strong relationships with high value potential partners and senior academic stakeholders. You should have outstanding communication and negotiation skills, and have the gravitas and to be credible across a variety of audiences. An entrepreneurial and collaborative approach will be critical as will be a passion for the research and educational mission of the University of Cambridge.
