Administrative Assistant

The Department of Medical Genetics wishes to recruit a full-time Administration Assistant.

The role holder will act as first point of contact for all staff and visitors to the Department. He/she will provide finance support by way of purchasing, receipting and raising invoices as well as general administrative support. He/she will also be responsible for all aspects of graduate administration, including initial enquiries and online applications via CamSIS (Cambridge Student Information System), interview arrangements, processing funding applications, and collating monitoring reports.

The successful applicant will be educated to at least 'A' level standard or equivalent. He/she will be proficient in the use of IT and will be able to demonstrate their competency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and email packages. Knowledge of the University's student records system CamSIS and the University's Finance System (UFS) is desirable. Excellent organisational and written and verbal communication skills are also required together with the ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team.

Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 4 years in the first instance.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 12th July 2017.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
