This is a hands on role working within the University Information Services' Programme and Project Office to deliver projects and support the delivery of more complex projects and programmes. Specifically, the role holder is likely to be assigned the management of a number of smaller scale projects that they will be responsible for and also to work alongside a Programme Manager to deliver specific workstreams or aspects of a highly complex and important programme for the University.
The role requires an organised individual with the ability to work methodically and consistently to ensure project timeframes are met. The role holder will need the ability to build relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders effectively.
To ensure consistency across the portfolio, the role holder will be required to utilise standard templates and approaches used by the University.
This role of Junior Project Manager is crucial to the effective working of the Programme and Project Office and forms part of a developing project management career path within the University's Information Services.
Formal qualifications in project management would be an advantage, but are not essential. Experience working within a project or programme environment is required with evidence of an understanding of basic project management principles and activities. Experience in an IT environment and familiarity with software development would also be an advantage.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
