Administrator - Research Project (Part Time, Fixed Term)

We are looking for an administrator to work four days per week to support our research Centre focusing on education and international development within the Faculty of Education. You will work with a team based in the UK, Ethiopia, United States and Sweden on a large research project focused in education system reform to improve the quality of education in Ethiopia. You will play a crucial part in the management and co-ordination of the project, and ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the work. You will keep track of progress on the project across the different team members according to an agreed workplan, and prepare quarterly narrative and financial reports to the funder. You will also organise meetings of the international research team, including arranging travel, accommodation and provide other forms of support to team members. You will also support the outreach of the project, including through the organisation of seminars and events, as well as other forms of publicity, as required.

Our ideal candidate will be educated to at least A-level standard, and will be highly competent in standard software packages and social media. You will need to be able to prioritise your own workload, and will have a very good standard of inter-personal skills with the ability to relate to people from a diversity of cultures and across a range of professional roles. You should also have proven experience in writing reports to funders, and maintaining budgets for projects. Previous administrative experience will be essential which you will preferably have gained in an academic environment.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
