We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join Dr Erica Watson's group, whose research focuses on understanding how developmental disorders are inherited between generations through epigenetic mechanisms (see http://www.pdn.cam.ac.uk/staff/watson/index.shtml for more information). He/she will maintain the transgenic mouse colony and provide molecular biology support to ensure that the objectives of the research project are achieved. Techniques required include mouse colony breeding and maintenance, PCR genotyping, and preparation of analytical solutions.
You should have an HNC or equivalent in biochemistry or a biology-related subject, experience of some of the techniques outlined above, have manual dexterity, good organisation and communication skills, good IT skills and be able to multi-task whilst working methodically and precisely. You should also be able to work independently.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 7 months in the first instance.
