The Wellcome Trust-Medical Research Council Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is an international centre of excellence for research into stem cell biology and medicine. Scientists in the Institute collaborate to generate new knowledge and understanding of the biology of stem cells and provide the foundation for new medical treatments.
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position in Dr. Joo-Hyeon Lee's group to explore the cellular behaviours of epithelial stem cells in lung homeostasis, regeneration, and tumorigenesis.
The project aims at establishing novel tools of in vivo genetic mouse models and ex vivo human organoid co-culture systems to investigate the lineage specification of adult lung stem cells, clonal dynamics of tumorigenic cells, and their interactions with niche cells in various contexts. The successful applicant will lead the biological analysis of these novel tools with a combination of imaging analysis, mathematical modelling, and single cell transcription profiling.

Experience in mouse line generation and mouse work will be highly advantageous. At least short-term lab experience. Previous experiences in CRISPR genome editing, primary cell culture, confocal imaging, and flow-cytometry is preferred, but not essential. Ability to quickly learn and independently apply new techniques after induction. A proven capacity to understand and interpret research articles. Good communication skills in English.
