The CRUK Cambridge Centre Early Detection Programme is seeking to appoint a part-time (20 hours per week) Administrative and Communications Assistant to work with the Administration and Communications Manager to provide efficient support across the programme.
The rapidly growing programme has as its mission "to gain greater understanding of how cancer develops in order to devise better means of detecting and treating it at an early stage, leading to improved outcomes for cancer patients". Multidisciplinary teams of researchers are focusing on a variety of aspects of early cancer detection, ranging from novel clinical applications to research into the broader societal impact of early detection.
The successful candidate will possess both written and oral communication skills. Applicants must be organised, with a high level of attention to detail, and be able to work as part of a team. The Administrative and Communications Assistant will provide efficient support across the programme. This will include;
-Administrative support for the group leaders and project managers
-Input into the design and execution of a programme of early detection related events
-Front line delivery of events
-Creation of promotional materials (poster, e-shots, Tweets, leaflets) for events and other aspects of the programme
-Newsletter creation for the Early Detection programme
-Membership management of the programme
