Applications are invited for a part time Research Nurse/Midwife position (equivalent to NHS band 6), to join the Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank, which works closely with academic research groups and the regional Haemato-oncology Diagnostic Service at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
We are seeking an individual to become a valued member of the research team. You will have good organisational skills, a flexible approach to work, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The work will involve recruiting expectant mothers and also patients with haematological disorders, taking cord blood after delivery and blood from out-patient clinics. We are establishing a team of dedicated individuals working at Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital for the Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank.
The primary aim of the team is to support local researchers and their collaborators in the study of blood development, function and disease. To do this, the successful applicant will also be expected to build relationships with clinical staff and investigate and implement new methods to recruit patients to the study. Experience of research or clinical trials would be advantageous.
The position is part-time, 0.8 FTE.
Fixed term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2018 in the first instance.
