Research Support Advisor (Part Time, Fixed Term)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the School of Clinical Medicine team as a Research Support Advisor. The University's research projects generate annual income of over £480 million per annum. This team is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance, and administering external research funding, for academics and Departments within the School.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration. Your key responsibilities will be:

providing procedural and financial advice and guidance to academic and departmental staff on a range of administration matters

assisting academics and departments creating applications for external research funding with the administrative aspects of the process ensuring costings are financially sound, and that the regulations of both the University and the sponsor are adhered to

setting up and monitoring research grant budgets against expenditure

You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy, communications and organisational skills and a positive, customer ¿oriented approach. The team works in a busy office environment, so you must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential, and knowledge of Oracle Financials would be advantageous.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 1 April 2022 in the first instance.
