A position exists, for a Research Assistant/Associate in the Department of Engineering, to work on a project concerned with trial data collection and analysis for heavy vehicle fuel consumption.
The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.
The key responsibilities and duties will be: - developing instrumentation to record vehicle and driver performance for a number of heavy road vehicles; - measuring performance of heavy vehicles and drivers under field conditions; - modelling fuel consumption; - compiling and analysing quantitative and qualitative data, preparing reports to summarise main findings and conclusions; - presenting results of the research to sponsors, addressing conferences and publishing articles outlining the methodology and results of research undertaken.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: the applicant must have obtained, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in engineering, with expertise in vehicle dynamics, trial planning and implementation, data collection and analysis.
Salary Ranges: Research Assistant: £25,298 - £29,301 Research Associate: £29,301 - £38,183
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
