Research Associate (Fixed Term)


Cambridge Centre for Proteomics (CCP) is currently looking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher to work within its core facility unit. The core facility offers proteomics services to users from the University of Cambridge and other worldwide academic and industrial groups.

The successful candidate will be required to take over the MALDI MS service. The role-holder will be an integral member of CCP and will need to interact closely with other members of CCP and internal and external users of the MALDI service to process samples and provide interpretation of results from complex datasets. The role holder will be responsible for training users on this instrument and making sure that it is in good working order. They will also be encouraged to build the portfolio of methodologies that can be supported by MALDI-MS.

There will also be opportunity for training on other instrumentation within CCP and computational workflows.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in analytical chemistry or biochemistry and previous experience in working with mass spectrometry, especially MALDI would be advantageous.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
