We are looking to recruit a Senior Animal Technician to work within our facility based in Central Cambridge.
As a member of a hard working team you will undertake daily husbandry tasks to support the care and welfare of the animals. You will undertake both licensed and unlicensed scientific procedures, and provide asepsis support to researchers performing surgery. You shall also provide support to the Biofacility Manager and Chief Technician, with supervision and training of the team of technicians within the facility.
You will have IAT Level 2 or equivalent, Home Office Licence modules A - C and will be a personal licence holder (or sufficient knowledge and experience in order to apply for a personal licence). Previous experience working within a biofacility with rodents is essential. The previous supervisory experience, ability to use a computerised data management system and surgery involvement is desirable.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check. The University will determine whether an outcome is satisfactory.
