Deputy Biofacility Manager


We are looking to recruit a Deputy Biofacility Manager to work within our facility based in Central Cambridge.

As a member of a hard working team, reporting to the Biofacility Manager, you will supervise a team of technicians to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the facility and maintain high standards of animal care and welfare. You will undertake both licenced and unlicensed scientific procedures along with daily husbandry and maintenance. You shall supervise the team of technicians; allocating tasks and coordinating staff rotas to ensure that there are sufficient staff to cover the work requirements, performance management, and training new and trainee technicians when required. You are also responsible for the maintenance of all necessary records, referring any issues and concerns to the Biofacility Manager as necessary.

You will have IAT Level 3 or equivalent, Home Office Licence modules A - C and will be a Personal Licence holder. In depth experience of working within a biofacility is essential, as are excellent communication skills. You must be able to use a computerised data management system and have previous experience working in a supervisory / team leader role.
