The VISION Lab of Dr Sarah Bohndiek is a highly interactive and international research team focused on developing new imaging techniques to better understand the role of oxygen and oxidative stress in cancer. Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory, which is co-located in the Department of Physics and the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge.
The appointment will be based approximately 75% at the CRUK CI and 25% at the Department of Physics. The primary responsibilities of the post-holder will be to: support the in vitro experiments of the research team; liaise with the group leader to manage and enforce health and safety records and best practice; provide administrative support for clinical research projects; and manage chemical, cell line and tissue databases.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the laboratory, excellent communication and team working skills are essential. Experience in training new group members and importing new techniques to laboratories is essential.

Maternity cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
