A post-doc position is available now in the Cambridge Brain Tumour Imaging Laboratory within the Neurosurgery Division (Stephen Price's group) to work on a multicentre project, imaging the peritumoural margin of glioblastomas. This study is funded by Cancer Research UK, uses diffusion tensor and dynamic susceptibility imaging performed pre-operatively and pre-radiotherapy to predict sites of tumour progression. The post-doc will be involved in collating and processing imaging data from the 9 centres involved in this study, and will be involved in developing image processing software and will be involved in comparing local and central data analysis. The study will start in March 2017 and run until September 2019.
The Cambridge Brain Tumour Research Laboratory is a recently formed, multi-disciplinary research group based in the newly opened John Pickard Neurosurgical Research Laboratories. There are established collaborations between the group in Neurosurgery and Radiology (Matys, Gillard and Graves), Oncology (Jena and Burnet), the Cambridge Cancer Institute (Markowietz, McLean and Brundle), the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (Williams) and the ESPRC Centre for Clinical Mathematical Imaging in Healthcare (Aston). The groups' interest includes imaging tumour invasion and function of the normal brain surrounding brain tumours, intratumoural heterogeneity and using imaging for surgical planning.
