The Faculty is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible IT Technician to join our busy IT Support team.
This post is to provide first line support to the Faculty teaching and administrative staff and students. The workload varies greatly from day-to-day and includes: enquiries about Microsoft Office and specialist econometric software, connecting devices to the eduroam wireless network, use of the workstations connected to the Managed Cluster Service, assisting lecturers with projectors, setting up new desktops within the Faculty Active Directory domain, working with printers, and recording lectures. These enquiries will be come by phone and email, but a significant number involve face-to-face contact with the enquirer.
The successful candidate will therefore need to have excellent communication skills and be committed to providing a high level of service, as well as having outstanding IT skills and experience in providing support.
The post holder will be required to work 36.5 hours per week Mondays to Fridays. Leave entitlement will be 36 days per annum including Bank Holidays. Holidays are not normally taken during term time.
