The University Information Services (UIS) department provides central Information Technology services for both the academic and administrative activities of the University of Cambridge. These services are crucial to the success and reputation of the University. It is responsible for the development, delivery and support of all university-wide technology and systems (communications, storage, computers and corporate systems) to staff and students.
We have an opportunity for an Oracle E-Business Suite developer to join our Finance Systems development team, reporting to the Finance Systems team lead. The role involves the design, development and maintenance of customisations and personalisations to the University's principal financial management system. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled E-Business Suite developer looking to gain further experience, with a complex and varied work load that involves a broad range of E-Business Suite modules and technologies.
Currently main areas of support for Oracle E-Business Suite include: - Core Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management) - Procurement (Purchasing, i-Procurement) - Research Administration (Projects and Grants) - Fixed Assets, Inventory - Oracle EBS System Administration - Reporting (Oracle Reports, Oracle BI Publisher) - Java Development and OA Framework
Desired Skills & Experience
Technical Skills: - Relational Database design knowledge. - Object Oriented Programming skills. - Experience with Oracle RDBMS. - Programming knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL. - Experience in writing reports using BI Publisher, Oracle Reports or similar report development tools. - Working knowledge of Java programming. - Oracle Forms Personalisation and OAF Framework personalisation - Experience in MVC framework especially Oracle Applications Framework would be an advantage. - Systems integration using the EBS SOA Gateway - Good knowledge of front end technologies such as HTML, JSP and how they link with back end services. - Demonstrable experience of providing systems support throughout the project lifecycle. - Other Technologies desired: XML, Unix scripting, Version Control Software like CVS or SVN.
Personal Skills: - Good problem solving skills and prepared to undertake technical challenges. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team or on your own. - Proven ability to meet deadlines.
