Clinical Specialist in Small Animal Surgery


UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE THE QUEEN'S VETERINARY SCHOOL HOSPITAL WEST CAMBRIDGE SITE

We are looking for a soft tissue surgeon to join our experienced small animal surgery team of four ECVS diplomates, led by Richard Whitelock, Director of Small Animal Surgery. This permanent position is available from 1 May 2017.

This is an opportunity to work in a well-equipped, multidisciplinary referral hospital, with a positive team spirit and a friendly working environment. The soft tissue caseload is varied and interesting, with a particular emphasis on oncological surgery, brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome and urology. Sophisticated facilities, including surgical laser and minimally invasive surgical equipment are available and an individual motivated to expand these areas of the service would be welcomed. Support with case management is available from within the team and from other services in the Department.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop areas of personal interest in soft tissue surgery and related clinical research. Involvement with student and resident teaching make this a very stimulating and rewarding position. Access to personal professional training and education is made available.
